Anywhr’s 2019 Annual Leave Travel Cheat Sheet

2019 is upon us. Did you #GOANYWHR and travel off the beaten path in 2018? Or was it the same old status quo?

A year since writing Anywhr’s first Travel Cheat Sheet for the average weary worker, I’m back to help you get a jump on the new year [2019]. This year, we’ve found eight chances for you to whip out the passport and wave goodbye to your boss and responsibilities.

Again, we’re assuming that you, like most other leave starved workers, have 14 days of leave.

#1. Apply For Leave: 4 February 2019

Public Holiday: Chinese New Year, 5 & 6 February 2019

Leave supply: 14 - 1 = 13 days

In 2019, Chinese New Year (CNY) falls on a Tuesday and Wednesday. Take Monday off [if your company gives you half-day you’re winning at life] and skip town on Friday night [1 Feb]. While the festivities mean most of the region will be closed for business, all it takes is creative planning.

Having trouble thinking of your CNY getaway? Leave it to the trip curators at Anywhr. A beach getaway? A jungle adventure? It’s all good when you escape fuss.

Right after your Good Friday getaway and just before the halfway mark of every year. It’s time for another five-day long holiday. It’s Labour Day, the day of the worker, you’ve earned. And there isn’t a better way to celebrate it than feeling the sand between your toes or connecting with a foreign culture. Seriously, I’m pretty sure it beats connecting on conference calls or with the boss.

#4. Apply For Leave: 17 & 21 May 2019

Public Holiday: Vesak Day, 19 May 2019 (carries over to 20 May 2019)

A couple of weeks after your previous holiday, it’s time for another. What will it be this time? I’d recommend a budget backpacking adventure. Save a little for the second half of 2019.
